"Centuries-old Welsh tradition emphasises that writing poetry and singing songs is an ancient craft that can bring life to old forgotten tales of times long ago, to celebrate a significant change in community.
The Welsh language, yr iaith cymraeg, is at the heart of our modern Welsh identity, the language of our people, where we belong and our identity is strong. We are speaking the language of our ancestors and those who lived here for generations.
As a means of communicating values, beliefs, and customs, it has an important social function and fosters feelings of identity and solidarity. It’s a means of connection and understanding with our land and environment.. and is how culture, traditions and shared values may be conveyed and preserved. Language is fundamental to cultural identity".

90 Youth Voices for the Future / 90 Llais Ieuenctid ar Gyfer y Dyfodol

By  / gan Mari Mathias

Cymuned gryf o bobl.

A strong community, to gather all.

Here, a greener, kinder, fairer future starts to loom.

Together we stand to nurture our countries,

In nature's bloom.

Cynefin.. Hiraeth.

Words of our language that connects us to our land.

A place of familiarity, of longing, of home. In it’s green, vibrant embrace,

creating a space for all life to thrive,

for future generations to trace.

Here a harmonious world is at the hearth,

in unity and togetherness, lies the

beating human heart.

Calon y pobl sy’n canu’n glud.

The songs of our people sing the enchanted, hud.

Together, through  connections, understanding , and trust,

we can bridge the gap and heal the divide,  gyda’n gilydd dewn ynghyd.

In the tapestry of life, we weave,

Threads of diversity, together we can achieve an Inclusive community and spaces wide, Where all are welcome and hearts reside.

Hear the voices that bind us,

plant the seeds of compassion..

understanding, empathy, and grace,

We pave the way for a unity, day by day.

Cytgan o harmoni .. A chorus of harmony,

Where a beautiful song of life Lets us nurture, lets us tend to one another.

Where everyone's story is heard and known,

A place where love and acceptance are shown.

So let us build, with love and peace,

From Jordan, Morocco, to Azerbaijan,

To Sri Lanka, Latvia and Sudan,

For in the tapestry of life we trace.

To Nepal, Lithuania and Vietnam.

To here in Wales and all UK, i yma

Yng Nghymru a Phrydain Fawr

There is beauty and diversity,

in every face.

A southern wind whispers through the winding streets,

as green air flows and saplings grow,

Like a storm new roots ripple

and dance together, as one.

flowers born without a fight

distant lands gather and unite,

a forest grows where the youth take flight

all hearts beat in the glowing light

branches stretch for all to see

Our 90 youth voices in harmony.

side by side they plant their seeds

and gather knowledge for diversity

roots of culture, deep and strong,

language of mothers where hearts belong.

From distant lands, cultures come alive,

United, embraced, together they strive,

with open hearts and minds -

they’ll lead the way. guiding through the shadows to a brighter day.

So let us follow,

learn from their bright light,

And journey together,

towards prosperity and peace, where all hearts unite.
