Be part of our Community Focused Schools Conference

Date: Monday, 31st March 2025
Location: Halliwell Conference Centre, Carmarthen

The Curriculum for Wales aims to ensure equity in education, supporting all young people to overcome barriers and reach their full potential. While schools play a central role, collaboration with families, communities, and external services can create a more powerful support system for students.

Join us for a Community Focused Schools conference and discover how they transform schools into hubs where educators, local community members, families, and students all play a part in creating the best conditions for learning and development.

This one-day conference will feature:

Keynote Speakers:

Lee Elliott Major, Professor of Social Mobility, University of Exeter

Michelle Dolan, Deputy Principal, St Louis Secondary School, Dundalk, Ireland

You’ll also gain insights from case studies and best practices shared by schools and Local Authorities from across West Wales.

Who should attend? This event is designed for teachers, school leaders, and organisations who wish to find out more about Community Focused Schools and:

  • build a strong partnership with families
  • work in partnership with the community
  • collaborate effectively with other services
  • focus on social, emotional and health needs of all learners

Space is limited to 2 educators per school. Register by 10th March to secure your place!
